Since 2014, we have been working toward the best possible solution for online movement training. The latest version of Accelerate training launched in July 2017 and reflects our approach to adaptive learning.
Accelerate online is built on the Accelerate values of team, partnership and adaptive learning. Many studies have shown that lock-step delivery of information is not really the best way to help people learn. Therefore, the Accelerate training site offers people the opportunity to explore content and start their own learning at any point. We want to provide the best learning environment possible for students of gospel movements.
What is learning?
Learning can be defined as “a process that leads to change, which occurs as a result of experience and increases the potential for improved performance and future learning.”
In other words,
- Learning is a process, not a product.
- Learning involves change in knowledge, beliefs, behaviors or attitudes.
- Learning is not something done to students, but rather something students themselves do.*
With this in mind, we set out to design an online learning system that focused on a process of peer-learning and adaptation. We also realize that effective learning cannot possibly happen only online. Therefore, we see this as a tool to extend rather than replace the global adaptive learning process.
